Donation Presentation Thursday, June 21, 2012

PACE issued the following Media Advisory for our annual Donation Presentation wherein our chosen charity partner receives a special cheque from the proceeds of our Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts.  PACE has contributed over $147,000 over the years to charities in support of their arts-related activities.

In this, our silver anniversary year, Mayor Stephen Mandel and PACE are proud to have the Rock and Roll Society of Edmonton’s Centre for Art and Music as our charity partner.

RFP issued today for Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts producer positions

Mayor Mandel welcomes guests to the 25th Annual Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts.

Thank you, one and all, for your past support over the years.  You are all one of the main reasons why PACE’s Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts – honouring the wonderful partnerships among Edmonton’s arts and business sectors – has become such a tremendous success.

Those of you at our Silver Anniversary event last April may recall that 2012 was the last year for our long-time event organizer Sallie Johnson of SJ Event Management.  Sallie has certainly left her mark on the Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts for the better.  Her departure, however, has offered PACE an opportunity to re-visit the production of this signal event.

You could be one of the people making everyone this happy on April 29, 2013. Think about it!

Please click here to access our RFP for four positions that will have key roles in producing our 2013 Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts.  We hope to see lots of interest in these opportunities.  The deadline for submission of proposals is Monday, July 16, 2012.  Submissions can be sent to our mailing address at P.O. Box 11933, Edmonton, AB, T5J 3L1 or to this e-mail address:  admin@pacedmonton.com.

ATCO Gas Award for Outstanding Lifetime Achievement by an Edmonton Artist ($2,500 cash prize) recognizes an individual artist who, over an extended period of time, has made an outstanding contribution to the arts inEdmonton. Nominees for this award should be based in the greaterEdmonton region and may or may not be currently active as an artist. While that contribution should be primarily through their chosen artistic discipline, nominees will also be recognized for outstanding work in support of the arts in general in theEdmonton region.  Their artistic output should extend for at least 25 years.

ATCO Gas would like to applaud all the nominees for the Outstanding Lifetime Achievement by an Edmonton Artist Award. Their outstanding talent and determination given to Edmonton and to the arts have contributed to the rich fabric of life in our city.
