Arts at the Assembly Campaign

PACE in collaboration with the Provincial Arts Service Organizations (PASOs) organized a province-wide campaign in November, 2009.  The purpose of the “Arts at the Assembly” campaign was for artists and arts organizations in Alberta to create an awareness of the importance of professional arts and their role in Alberta’s arts and business community.

We engaged 43 Alberta MLAs in conversations about arts and culture throughout Alberta.  We also scheduled seven additional meetings  as a follow-up, with MLAs who were not available during the week of November 9 – 13.

An event also took place at the Legislature on November 18 and the Arts at the Assembly Committee members were introduced from the Member’s Gallery by the Honourable Lindsay Blackett during the legislature’s afternoon session.

We are very excited about the completion of the first ever Arts at the Assembly and the opportunity to continue working together as a united voice for the arts in the future.

A series of key messages were developed to ensure a consistent and cohesive message was being delivered across the province. View key messages [PDF].
